The ownership of the author upon his work. According to the nature of the work, and for the protection thereof, it will be forwarded to a corresponding institution. A copyright governs the juridical relations concerning all artistic creation not protected by the Patents Act, such as literary and artistic works, music, theater plays, drawings, comic strips, advertising, movie/TV scripts, biographies, etc.

These creations, depending on the nature thereof, shall be protected at the:

• Foundation National Library;
• School of Music;
• School of Beautiful Arts;
• Secretariat for the Development of the Audio Appearance;

Said registration allows the recognition of the authorship, specifies moral and equity rights and establishes terms for the protection both for the title holder and his successors.
